The Big Tree Plant funding scheme hopes to encourage and support community groups to plant trees in neighbourhoods where people live and work.  The scheme can fund work such as community involvement, site surveys and expert advice as well as trees, planting materials, labour, and tree care and maintenance.

The 121 befriending project has recently launched the 121 social café in Tunbridge Wells. The cafe provides a safe and fun environment in which young people can meet new friends and give each other support. Members of the café have overcome their own personal barriers to feel happy and more optimistic about the future.

The British Empire Medal, which was awarded as part of the Queen's Honours system to British citizens making a difference in their communities until 1992, will be reintroduced in the Diamond Jubilee Honours list in June next year.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Making a booking

To book a place online go to the training calendar and choose the course you want. Alternatively you can download a booking form to reserve your space. Simply fill out the form online, or print it off and send back to:  Diane Brenham, Voluntary Action Within Kent, 17-19 Monson Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN1 1LS.

Joining instructions are sent out 10 days before the course starts. These will include any requests by trainers for participants to bring materials to the course or for other preparation work.

Course times

Unless otherwise shown, course times are 9.30am to 4.30pm for full-day courses and 10am to 1.00pm for half-day courses.

Registration is at 9.15am. Please aim to arrive by that time.

Refreshments

Coffee, tea and light refreshments are supplied for all courses.

Cancellations

Our cancellation policy states that whether payment has been received or not, your organisation will be liable for the whole course fee unless we receive notification of cancellation at least 10 working days before the event, as shown on our booking form.

 
 
 

Data protection

The information you provide on your booking form, and any additional information you may provide in the future, will be held by Voluntary Action Within Kent Training for their exclusive use and will only be shared with the Open College Network, where necessary for accreditation purposes and will not be passed to any third party, individual or organisation.

Specific requirements

A full specific requirements form will be sent to you, to allow us to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. Please indicate the following requirements where appropriate on the booking form.

  • Wheel chair access required
  • Sign language interpreter required
  • Hearing loop required
  • Large print handouts required
