21 Feb 2013

Helping people find their voice is crucial when it comes to health and social care.

From 1 April, a new organisation will be in place that will give people an opportunity to share their views about Kent’s health and social care services to see where they are doing well and how they could improve.

Come and Meet Each Other

CAMEO is a pilot project for people who have found themselves single & isolated due to the death or separation of a partner.

CAMEO consists of a series of workshops designed to equip participants with the practical skills their partner carried out in their relationship, and which they now need to do in order to live independently. It’s also a chance for people that may feel isolated to socialise and have a good time. CAMEO increases confidence and self-esteem thereby improving quality of life. So far there has been a variety of workshops from car mechanics, to DIY in the home.

The project enables each individual to feel they can make a positive contribution to their community through volunteering and access to further training.

Our first group started in November 2011 and has proved a huge success and we have two new groups starting in January 2012—

If you would like to join CAMEO or if you would like to refer someone to CAMEO that would benefit from the project:-
