How We Recycle

RE-Computer Recycling are able to refurbish up to 85% of all equipment collected. The majority of this is supplied to Computer Aid International for use in emerging African nations or will be sold, at a reasonable cost, to other charities and community projects and people on low incomes.

Equipment that is too old or damaged to be refurbished is dismantled and the various parts and materials are recycled via accredited companies.

Computer and IT disposal

RE-Computer Recycling service underpins your organisations' environmental credentials by taking obsolete and faulty computer equipment for reuse or materials recovery. The operation is fully compliant with UK and EU Government WEEE legislation. Environmental legislation is very strict in this regard and our disposal procedures ensure complete and certificated compliance for your organisation.

CRT Monitor Disposal

We first explore the possibilities to refurbish and re-use the monitor; if this is the case we fully check the monitor electronics, which includes PAT Testing. The vast majority are refurbished and recycled via Computer Aid International.

Monitors which are damaged or too old to use for Computer Aid International or to retail are recycled in accordance with the WEEE regulations at SWEEEP in Sittingbourne, one of the most sophisticated and environmentally friendly WEEE recycling plants in Europe.

Cables

We include most of the cables with the machines we refurbish, the rest are sold to dealers for the copper content, retailed at lowest or donated to local charities and community projects.

Toners and Inkjet Cartridges

These are recycled in bulk to companies who refill them for re-use.
