Voluntary Action Within Kent (VAWK), formerly West Kent Council for Voluntary Service, was established in 1965 to provide support to voluntary organisations and community groups in the West Kent area.

We are a local infrastructure organisation providing support, advice, training and networking opportunities to over 180 members in the boroughs of Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge & Malling and Sevenoaks & District.

Our overall mission is to promote, develop and support, through partnership, a dynamic and diverse voluntary and community sector.

To achieve this goal we have seven strategic aims:

Facilitate Liaison & Collaboration
Provide Support
Enable Strategic Partnerships, Representation & Influence
Meet Community Needs
Operate as a Centre of Excellence and a Model of Good Practice
To Promote and Develop Volunteering

Every Action Counts

Every Action Counts (EAC) is a Defra-funded programme engaged national and local third sector organisations in work to protect and improve our environment and to deliver sustainable development solutions. The programme ran from autumn 2006 until March 2009.

The Every Action Counts website will remain active until end of June, and you can still access a host of useful information on how to make your organisation more environmentally sustainable

Voluntary Action Within Kent has also signed the Third Sector Declaration on Climate Change
