Welcome to the Voluntary Action West Kent website

Voluntary Action West Kent (VAWK), formerly West Kent Council for Voluntary Service, was established in 1965 to provide support to voluntary organisations and community groups in the West Kent area.

We are a local infrastructure organisation providing support, advice, training and networking opportunities to over 180 members in the boroughs of Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge & Malling and Sevenoaks & District.

Our overall mission is to promote, develop and support, through partnership, a dynamic and diverse voluntary and community sector.

To achieve this goal we have six strategic aims:

  • Enhance Capacity & Quality
  • Facilitate Liaison & Collaboration
  • Provide Support
  • Enable Strategic Partnerships, Representation & Influence
  • Meet Community Needs
  • Operate as a Centre of Excellence and a Model of Good Practice

UPDATE: April 2008
